Map Your World offers flexible solutions. Buy only the maps and services you need, when you need them!

The previous demonstration mainly details complete mapping system setups which are reasonably priced and described below, but you may not want or need an entire County for a small prospect. For that reason I also offer individual maps on a smaller scale to meet a one-time or as-need basis.

Option 1. Map Snapshots

Map snapshots are provided as paper maps and/or JPEG images, but the data gathered for them can remain on file, ready and available for future snapshots or modifications you may need. This reduces costs of subsequent map snapshots in those areas.

Some examples are:

• You might want to see where some proposed well locations fall using an aerial image: E-mail me an Excel or other list of XY cords. I will assemble just the DOQQ aerial images needed for your area, place and identify the locations, e-mail you back a digital image, and mail you the paper map.
• You might have a potential lease with a long or confusing meets and bounds description that has you wondering where it really is: E-mail or fax me the Legal Description. I will plot the meets and bounds directly onto the Original Texas Land Survey (OTLS) layer, combine that with any background image you need, and forward that map to you.

I have many clients whose needs are well met by these snapshots. This gives them the convenience of an experienced mapping department without the overhead. It also provides them the convenience of not having to learn new software or mapping skills. Even though I am not “in house”, quick turnaround is not sacrificed, as I am usually able to respond with a map the same or next day.

Option2. Interactive Maps

By using the free viewing software I provide, you can work with the maps yourself. The maps will then be interactive, allowing you to pan, zoom, measure, query data, and print. I will send you an additional self-extracting ZIP file or disk that loads your data for viewing. This enables even map snapshots to be interactive.

Option 3. Basic Texas Basemap (optional but highly recommended)

If you want interactive maps, this group of statewide layers is used as a basis for the basemap system, including:

• County Lines and Names
• General Hydrology
• USDOT Highways
• Railroads
• Populated Place Names
• Color Hillshaded Terrain Map

This option is a one-time charge and is greatly recommended, for the following reasons, even if you only plan to map small areas:

• Includes complete installation assistance of viewing software and map data
• Includes a custom written manual specifically on how to view and print your maps, depicted with color screen shots
• Includes 2 hours Tech Support from Map Your World
• Provides a Statewide reference frame and basemap to aid viewing your maps
• Provides organization structure for future maps
• Facilitates updating and adding small maps or entire Counties
• Includes a backup/installation disk which can be used to install basemaps on as many computers as your organization and/or client need, at no extra charge per user
• Useful for driving directions
• Integrates Map Snapshots

Option 4. Detailed Countywide Basemap Systems

Add desired detailed layers you need for in-depth analysis of your area of interest.
